The Square of the Republic
Namesti Republiky (Square of the Republic) is located in the eastern part of the inner city about 10 minutes walk from Old Town Square. It is one of the busy commercial centres of Prague (with many shops, banks, and Prague Stock Exchange). Namesti Republiky is also a place frequented by tourists. There are sightseeing tours stands and several tourist attractions at the square, including the Municipal House, which you can see on the picture (the building in the back). Some of Prague’s best hotels are situated at or near Namesti Republiky.
Public transport at Namesti Republiky
Namesti Republiky has an excellent public transport coverage. The stop in the picture is served by several tram lines with direct connections to Kobylisy, Palmovka, Wenceslas Square, and many other places in Prague.
There is also the metro station Namesti Republiky, whose one exit takes you directly to the square and the other to Masarykovo Nadrazi (Masaryk Train Station), where you can transfer to regional trains.
