Dancing House (Tancici Dum) in Prague

One of the most interesting buildings in Prague is the Dancing House, also called Ginger and Fred or Dancing Building – or Tancici Dum in Czech. It is located at Jiraskovo Namesti (Jirasek Square), at the corner of Resslova Street and Rasinovo Nabrezi (Rasin Embankment). Prague Dancing House overlooks the Vltava River and Jiraskuv Most (Jirasek Bridge). The nearest metro station is Karlovo Namesti at the other end of Resslova Street (4-5 minutes walk). The nearest tram stop is Jiraskovo Namesti just across the street.

Hotels near Prague Dancing House

The Dancing House is situated in the southern part of Prague inner city and therefore you will find far more hotels in the streets north of the Dancing House than in the south. Several good 3 or 4 star hotels are located in close proximity of Prague Dancing House – in Resslova Street or Naplavni Street (a quieter street running from Resslova to the north) – e.g. the 4 star hotel Eurostars David, built in 1884, with gym and sauna facilities and free wifi. A very interesting kind of accommodation is available on the Vltava river: the 4 star Boat Hotel Matylda on a boat off Jiraskovo Nabrezi – with panoramic views of Prague Castle or the Dancing House, with free wifi and parking.

Other hotel locations near Prague Dancing House

The concentration of hotels increases as you go from the Dancing House to the north. There are many interesting hotels around the National Theatre, which is situated at the corner by the next bridge, Most Legii, about 6-8 minutes walk or 1 tram stop from Prague Dancing House. National Theatre and Narodni Trida (National Street) mark the southern border of Prague Old Town, which is the most typical place to stay in Prague with dozens of hotels in the streets around Old Town Square.
