Getting from Florenc Bus Station to Holesovice Train Station
Florenc bus station
Autobusove nadrazi Praha Florenc (bus station Prague Florenc) is the main terminal for long distance buses connecting Prague with other European cities. It is located quite close to the city centre (about 15-20 minutes walk from the Old Town Square).
Holesovice train station
Nadrazi Praha-Holesovice (Station Prague-Holesovice) is the second largest train station in Prague. Unlike the Main train station it is not located in the very centre of Prague. It lies in a part of Prague called Holesovice, on a peninsula formed by the river Vltava. Station Praha-Holesovice serves mainly trains going from Prague to the north or west, for example long distance trains to Dresden or Berlin in Germany.
How to get from Florenc to Holesovice
Though the distance between Florenc bus station and Holesovice train station is only two stops by metro, it is quite far when you walk on your own.
From Florenc to Holesovice train station by metro
Getting from Florenc bus station to Holesovice train station usually takes about 10 minutes by metro. This includes buying the ticket and waiting for the metro train. A one-way ticket costs CZK 26 (about 1 euro). You can buy it at the entrance to the metro station at Florenc in a yellow machine or (if you don’t have coins) in a counter.
Go to the C (red) line and take any train in direction to Ladvi or Letnany (do NOT go to Haje or Kacerov, which are on the opposite side). The intervals between trains range from less than 2 minutes during peak hours to about 10 minutes late in the evening (the last train goes few minutes after midnight).
Nadrazi Holesovice (Holesovice train station) is the second stop from Florenc for all trains. The one station between Florenc and Nadrazi Holesovice, where you are NOT supposed to get off, is Vltavska, named after the river in Prague.
Getting off at Nadrazi Holesovice
The metro station Nadrazi Holesovice has two exits, one on each end of the platform. Choose the one in the direction of the train you have come with and the corridor will lead you to Holesovice train station hall.
Taking a taxi from Florenc to Nadrazi Holesovice
You can also take a taxi from Florenc to Holesovice. It is not faster than the underground and during the peak traffic hours, it can take even half an hour or more. The taxi must go through a section of the main Prague north-south highway with extremely dense traffic in most parts of a day. In late evening or during the weekend the taxi should be fine.
